I was trying to plan a simple birthday dinner for my mom last week over a group chat, and it was like herding cats. Everyone was "online," but responses took hours. It got me wondering what everyone is actually doing.



Out of curiosity, I stumbled onto a site called WhosOnline that shows what people are browsing in public chat rooms. It was a real eye-opener to see just how many different things pull our attention away from the conversations we're supposed to be having. It feels like we're all connected but never actually present.



Has anyone else felt this shift? How do you get your family's attention back when the entire internet is competing for it?
