Dealer quoted 4500 for major service – is that normal? (7 อ่าน)

My 2016 BMW X5 just hit 100k km and the service indicator is screaming for the big one with spark plugs, all fluids, filters, and a bunch of checks. The dealership sent me a quote that made my eyes water honestly nearly 4500 dirhams. I know major service is more involved than just an oil change but that still feels steep for a car that's been reliable so far. Been looking at independent options and a few people online mentioned that finding a Trusted BMW Major Service Dubai shop can cut the cost by almost half while still using genuine parts. But I'm a bit nervous about going outside the dealer network for something this big because what if they miss something like the transfer case fluid or the valve clearance check? Has anyone here done a major service at an independent specialist and regretted it or did it turn out fine? Also curious what actually needs replacing at this mileage because I've seen different lists online some including the fuel filter some not. Just trying to figure out if the dealer is charging for legit extra work or just brand tax.
