I went to one of the summer markets downtown and was surprised by how friendly everyone was &mdash; people actually talk to each other here! It made me realize how much I&rsquo;d missed that small-town vibe. Which events do you all think are the best for meeting people and really feeling part of the community?

The best part is chatting with vendors and seeing local musicians perform. There&rsquo;s also the chainsaw carving event, which always draws a fun crowd. You can find updates on that and other happenings through local businesses in Hope, BC; many of them sponsor or host parts of the events. It&rsquo;s a great way to connect with people and support the town.</span>

I like how events here have a relaxed pace &mdash; you can walk around, grab a bite, and end up in a long chat with someone you&rsquo;ve never met before. Even if you&rsquo;re not the most social person, you still end up leaving with a few new faces you recognize around town. It&rsquo;s one of those things that makes smaller communities really feel like home.
